‘Now rise up and go over the brook Zered.’ So we went over the brook Zered.
Deuteronomy 2:13 ESV
There are moments that mark our lives, times when we can look back and see where our lives made a turn. These times are important symbols, events, that we can look back on to see where the Lord has taken us.
When the Israelites disobeyed the Lord by complaining and refusing to enter the Promised Land for the first time, He made them wander in the wilderness until all the men of fighting age died out.
When the time came, their children, crossed the brook Zered to move towards the Promised Land to conquer it once and for all.
You have a brook Zered too! And it’s important to remember those times because they are events where you can see the hand of the Lord on you.
If you’ve never reflected on those times, if you’ve never written those times down, it would be worthy time spent. Because there will be times when you need to be reminded when God was working in your midst. Not because God is absent, but because you don’t always see His hand working and need reminders that He is for you!
Take a moment to reflect on a time when you know God was working on your behalf. Let that time be burned in your heart and mind that God was for you! Then give Him glory for caring so much about you!
Father, You are with me every day. But thank You for those special times when I see how awesome You are and how active You are in my life.
