The following is a record of what Amos prophesied. He was one of the herdsmen from Tekoa. These prophecies about Israel were revealed to him during the time of King Uzziah of Judah and King Jeroboam son of Joash of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

If you read the Scriptures too fast, you miss it! But it’s right there and it’s so important!
“He was one of the herdsmen from Tekoa.”
Amos wasn’t a High Priest or any priest for that matter. He didn’t hold some high position in the monarchy.
No, he was a herdsmen. We don’t know to what extent, but he was a herdsmen.
Most people wouldn’t take a second look at someone who ranched today.
But God did and still does.
God will use anyone who makes themselves available to Him to use. He is looking for willing vessels, obedient servants to share and proclaim His message.
Do you want to be used by God?
Spend time with Him. Know His Word. Listen to and learn to identify His voice and leading of the Holy Spirit. Make yourself available to him.
The question should also be asked. If you don’t want to be used by Him, why? Are you scared of what others might say? You don’t want to look like a fanatic? You care more about what others think vs God the Father?
Jesus said if you deny me before men, I will deny you before my Father in Heaven. It’s pretty clear.
You have to understand that the world will never like Christians. The world will always be at odds with those who believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus even warned us about it.
But yet, we are still called to be witnesses. We are still called to proclaim and live the truth. We are still called to let out lights shine in this darkened world.
The world will get darker, but Jesus will always be the light of the world.

Father, thank You for allowing me to know and be a part of what You are doing around me. Help me to know Your will and proclaim Your truth with boldness.
