Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet. Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city. Matthew 10:14-15 NASB
You might not want to read this. This isn’t the typical “Jesus loves you this I know.” Instead, these are scary words from Jesus!
Right in Matthew 10, in red letters, Jesus says that it will be more tolerable for the people of Sodom and Gomorrah on the last day than people who reject the Gospel.
I don’t know about you, but that is scary. Sodom and Gomorrah were totally obliterated!
This doesn’t match up with everyone’s idea that God is love!
He is, but that’s not all! He is a God of Holiness and Righteousness. He made a way for you to be like that too! And when people reject His ways, they reject Him.
And, the final outcome for those who reject Him is not good.
You have to go about it on God’s terms, not yours! And now is the time to get it clear. When it all goes down, time is up!
The people of Sodom and Gomorrah will look at those who rejected Him and wonder what in the world they were doing! The Gospel is out there, ready for anyone who will accept it. There are no excuses and none will be allowed on that last day!
Harsh? No! It was harsh that Jesus died for our sins and many still reject Him. How is God going to look at that?
For those who are Believers, share the Gospel with those who haven’t accepted it. Pray for them, the time is short!
For those who are not Believers, please take a moment to seek the truth. Your eternal life hangs in the balance.
Father, let Your Word go out with power and let the Holy Spirit convict to bring all to You.
