Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20 NET
There is no guessing when you choose to live for Jesus. He made it very clear in the last words He shared with His disciples.
Go. Make disciples. Baptize. Teach.
Why do Christians and churches make it so hard?
Why do we focus on all the other things that “should” accompany the faith filled life when we don’t first put these simple commands of Jesus in place?
Notice, church buildings, worship style, color schemes, activities and events, websites, marketing, strategic planning, none of this is mentioned.
Jesus made it so easy and clear to understand that the simplest person could fulfil what He requested of them.
Do you ever struggle with what the Lord would desire for you? Do you ask,”Lord, what do You want from my life?”
Would it help if the Bible all of the sudden flung open and turned by itself to Matthew 28:19-20? Does some mystical thing have to happen? Or is it enough that you read the Scripture that Jesus calls us to Go. Disciple. Baptize. Teach?
If we can settle that Jesus has given all of us the Great Commission, then we could move to the next step in asking Him, “Lord, let my eyes see the opportunities before me that will allow me to Go. Disciple. Baptize. Teach.”
Opportunities abound all the time! When you put yourself in a place where you want to live obediently to the Word of the Lord, He will use you. He is always looking for willing, obedient servants.
Time is short! Go. Disciple. Baptize. Teach.
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace, peace that the world doesn’t understand, peace that comes when someone realizes that they are safe in Your embrace. Help me to get outside of all my circumstances so I can see others that need to know You.
