For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. He has chosen you to be his people, prized above all others on the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 7:6 NET
Where do you derive your worth? How valuable are you “out there?”
Some consider material goods. Others will look at bank accounts and investments. Yet others will look at social capital.
All of those things are temporary.
The house eventually falls apart. The government winds up taking a lot of your money. And society can turn on you when they are done with you.
He says you are chosen! He says you are valuable to Him! He knows you by name!
And the things of God, what He does, is eternal!
Government can’t touch it. It doesn’t matter what society says. The Lord’s House never goes into disrepair!
Moses knew the value of God’s people. He tried to get them to understand how precious they we’re to God.
Don’t allow something else to hold that place in your life. Nothing is more valuable than to be called His son or daughter.
Don’t let the world set your value. Don’t let circumstances set your value. Don’t let your own mind play games with you and set your value!
Listen to what God says about you! Find it in His Word. Lean on it!
He thought so much of you that He didn’t even withhold His only Son!
Father, thank You that You see me differently than I even see myself. Help me to listen to You. Help me to let Your Word and Your desire set my value.
