Boaz replied to her, “I have been given a full report of all that you have done for your mother-in-law following the death of your husband—how you left your father and your mother, as well as your homeland, and came to live among people you did not know previously.
Ruth 2:11 NET
Are you on autopilot? Do you just go through your day, running through the motions, getting to the part of your day where you can just veg in front of the TV or with a good book or whatever?
How much do you miss because you aren’t observing or interested in the things around you? Are you present?
The thing is that God is always present. And God pays close attention. He’s not wanting to find you in the wrong so He can punish you. Instead, He wants to reward you for your faithfulness.
Boaz is a picture of this. He came to his field and saw Ruth, Naomi’s daughter-in-law, gleaning grain. Gleaning was a device to help the poor find food to eat.
When he was told who she was, he made arrangements for her to receive more.
You see, he had already heard about her. Her faithfulness to Naomi was widely known. And because of her faithfulness, God used Boaz to bless her and Naomi.
God is looking down from Heaven on all of us. What is He seeing in your life?
Will He meet you with a reward? Has your faithfulness caused Him to take notice?
Adjust to God today. Be faithful, even in the small things.
When He comes to His field, you will definitely be rewarded with life!
Father, thank You for the opportunity to live this life for You. I pray that You will look down on my faithfulness and smile. I desire to please You always.
