Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NET
Your mind is powerful. Sometimes, it helps you to think through complex problems and solutions. Other times, your mind can cause you to be paralyzed as you think and focus on your fear.
But even if we have conquered a lot of our fears, our mind still doesn’t have all the answers. What happens when we walk into uncharted territory? What happens when we are at a loss for our next step?
The Proverbs gives us some very helpful advice. There are times when you can’t trust your own mind, when you can’t trust your own thoughts, when you can’t trust your own abilities.
In those times and everytime for that matter, you need to fully trust in the Lord.
Trusting in the Lord when you are not trusting in your own understanding doesn’t make sense to non-believers. That is because they don’t know God as a loving Father who only wants the best for you.
Do your best in what you know to do. But then make sure you are in His Word, praying and walking in the power of the Holy Spirit. At that point, you can fully trust in Him.
He won’t ever let you down!
Father, thank You that Your ways are so much higher than mine. Thank You that You are intimately involved in my life. I praise and honor Your leadership in my life.
