But when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook out his garments and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”
Acts 18:6 NASB
There are times, when you are sharing the Gospel, that you just need to stop and move on. We share the Good News because we want all we meet to know Jesus the way we know Him.
But there are people who just don’t care to hear, people who are so in to what they want that they can’t be bothered with what God wants. When you encounter those times, it’s better to stop and move on. You’re not doing anyone any good and you are just wasting time. This is even more so if they are so against the Gospel message that they start to blaspheme God’s name. Move on!
We should want to share the Gospel. We should want to sow seeds in the world. But we must understand that many don’t want to hear.
Jesus told us that the world would hate us. They are against living for Him, because they only want to live for themselves. At that point, they will not listen. The most you can do is pray for them and stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
Lord, give us a heart and desire to spread the Good News. When we do, help us to stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit and know when we need to keep sharing and know when we need to move on.
