strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, “Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.” Acts 14:22 NASB
Paul and Barnabas wouldn’t have made very good TV preachers. Yes, they talked about the blessings of God, but they also warned that Believers would encounter tribulations.
No one likes to go through trials and tribulations. They are not fun when you find yourself right in the middle of them.
But the Scripture does say that they are not forever. Verse 22 says, “through” trials and tribulations we must enter the Kingdom of God. This means they are only for a time. But our time with the Lord, as we go through this time on Earth, is forever!
It might not seem like a short amount of time, but in relation to eternity, this time on Earth, where we deal with our trials and tribulations, is so short!
Until then, do what Paul and Barnabas did, encourage and strengthen one another. Encouragement goes a long way and it helps to know there are others walking with you.
If you’re going through trials and tribulations, take some time to think about what life will be like in eternity for you.
Father, I look forward to the day when mortality puts on immortality.
