And all who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?”
Acts 9:23 ESV
Is there a moment you can point to where your life took a turn towards Jesus?
We often talk about Paul’s Damascus road experience. His conversion was very dramatic.
He left Jerusalem to in-prison Christians. But He entered Damascus broken and dependent on someone to lead him. At that time, his world was flipped as he realized Jesus was the Christ.
His transformation was so dramatic that people didn’t believe it. They thought it was a ploy to capture Christians.
The thing is that we all have that moment!
It might not be as dramatic as Paul’s. But every Christian should come to the place where they realize that Jesus is everything.
If you haven’t, is Jesus truly your Lord? Do you keep Him around to help you feel better? Or have you committed your whole life to following Him no matter what the cost?
Paul willingly gave up everything to follow Christ.
There should be nothing special about Paul. We should also willingly give up everything to follow Jesus too.
How would you gauge your spiritual walk right now? At what level is your commitment to follow Jesus?
Father, when I stop to reflect and evaluate everything, I always come to the realization that nothing matters more than You. Help me to never allow anything to take Your spot in my life.
