But we desire to hear from you what your views are, for with regard to this sect we know that everywhere it is spoken against.”
Acts 28:22 ESV
In the US, historically, Christians have experienced the ability to exercise their faith openly without any negative repercussions. The length of time that this has been the case is fairly rare in world history.
But most who are paying attention to what is going on realize that this is changing. We are now living in a post-Christian country. Many would even say an anti-Christian country because Christians are easily persecuted for their faith.
But this is to be expected. It is happening all over the world and is happening in the US too.
And, this isn’t anything new in the history of the church. This was the world Paul and the early church experienced.
The Jews in Rome, during Paul’s imprisonment, mentioned that Christians were spoken against everywhere.
It happened then, it will happen now!
For Believers who are weak in their faith, or for those who love the world more than Jesus, hard times are coming. They will need to make a decision about their faith and what they truly believe. They won’t be able to sit on the fence.
For the true Believer, it will be important to have a church family of like minded and faith-filled brothers and sisters to rely on for encouragement and support.
It will be a time to rely on the promises of the Word and trusting in Jesus. It will be a time to listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Pay attention, stay prayerful and stay close to Jesus. Time is short!
Father, help me to stand boldly for You in these times. Bring Your true church together as one, as You have always desired.
