The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, so that when I see the blood I will pass over you, and this plague will not fall on you to destroy you when I attack the land of Egypt.
Exodus 12:13 NET
In the very last plague that God sent to Egypt, the difference between life and death was blood on the door post.
This sign was an outward appearance that told the Lord to “pass over” the house. The people inside were “covered” by the blood on the door post and because of it, the first born didn’t die.
The pattern, the way God sees things are still the same today. Blood “covers” you. But in our case, it isn’t the blood an an animal, but the blood of Jesus.
On that last and final day, our Exodus from this world, the thing that will show we are God’s is if we have allowed the blood of Jesus to cover us from our sins.
That is done by asking for forgiveness, accepting Jesus and living for Him according to His Word.
The blood that Jesus shed for us is more than enough.
Don’t delay in getting covered. There are no second chances when it all goes down.
And if you have been “covered” by the blood, then evaluate your life in respects to how God wants you to live.
You belong to Him. Let that be apparent in your behavior and actions. It’s not about performing for God, but instead being so grateful that you are counted as His child that you want to be obedient and serve Him out of love.
Father, thank You for the blood that covers all of my sins.
