Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
Exodus 40:34-35 ESV
Moses was able to experience the Lord in a way that most did not. He spoke directly with God!
But when the Tabernacle was erected and the Lord filled it for the first time, not even Moses could enter in. The glory of God was just too awesome.
It must have been an awesome sight to witness.
But this wasn’t the only time it happened. When Solomon dedicated the Temple, the same thing happened. The glory of God was so powerful that the priests could not enter in.
Jesus came, died and rose again. He said that He would send the Holy Spirit and He would be in us! (John 14:16-17)
There isn’t a Tabernacle or Temple to enter in now, the glory of God fills the Believer. This was made real to everyone on Pentecost.
So for the Believer, the glory of God is made real in you! (Romans 8:9) Do you realize that?
The same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead lives in you!
So live as someone who is filled with the glory of God, because if you are a Believer, then you are!
What implications does that have for you today as you go about?
What will others see? Will they see someone filled with the glory of God?
Father, I will never understand fully all the mysteries of the faith, like that You filled me with You Spirit. But help me to live out what is true to Your glory.
