Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things. And what you learned and received and heard and saw in me, do these things. And the God of peace will be with you.

What gets your attention? What do you give your thoughts to?
There are so many things in this world vying for our attention that it is easy to get distracted and focus on things that are not truly important.
What is important is the things of God! Paul told Timothy, his son in the faith, that he should focus on these things. Not only did he tell him to focus on these things, but that he should think about these things.
How often do you really take the time to think about the things of God? How often do you meditate on His Word? How often do you get quiet and just talk to God?
If you truly belong to Him, shouldn’t you get to know Him more and more? Everything else is truly worthless when compared to Him.
Do you make excuses for spending time with the Lord? There should be no other desire that is greater for the Believer.
Turn the TV off. Schedule time to spend with God. It isn’t that difficult. It is a priority issue though.
When we look at the people of faith in the Bible, they all came from different backgrounds and experiences. The one thing they have in common is that they took time for God.
Lord, You are the most important relationship to me. Help me to never take for granted Your goodness and mercy. Help me to fix my eyes on You.
