36 But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Luke 21:36 NASB
What do you give your time and attention to? Are you so busy that you can’t stay alert to the things of God?
We are told in Scripture to stay alert. Why? So that we can have strength to get through all the things that are coming.
You have strength by staying in the presence of God and surrounding yourself with the things of God. It’s easy to let your focus drift and go to other worldly things.
This world would want to take you away from God. But you must stay alert, close to God. You’ll need to rely on Him, because the things at the end of the age, which seems to be coming soon, will be crazy!
What could you possibly desire more than a strong relationship with God? Everything else will pass away.
So do the things that will last for all eternity. Read the Bible, pray, go to church and fellowship with other believers. Get rid of “junk” in your life that gets your focus and attention off of God and spiritual things.
Lord, there is nothing more I desire than You. Help me to stay alert and focused on You. You are a good God and love Your people. Everything that You have for us, even though it might be challenging at times, is for our good.
