But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray. Luke 5:16 NASB
One of the most important spiritual disciplines is prayer. We definitely don’t take it seriously, not like Jesus.
Jesus was often breaking away and taking time to pray. He would wake up early in the morning to find a secluded place.
His disciples asked Him, “teach us to pray.” They obviously saw how important it was to Him.
But most Believers don’t set aside a regular time to pray. More than likely because it means giving up something.
It means taking time in quiet. It means that you need to humble yourself and come to the Lord. It means to talk to the Father, but also stop and listen to what He might say.
If we are to be like Jesus, we should follow His example of prayer and develop an ear and understanding of the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit.
What has the Lord said to you lately?
Father, help me to desire prayer more and more. Speak to me through the Holy Spirit and Your Word.
