For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid among his fathers and underwent decay;
Acts 13:36 NASB
After you’re long and gone, if the Lord tarries, what will they say about you?
We shouldn’t live for the applause of man. We should live for the Lord to one day say, “Well done.”
In that though, making a difference in this world, “serving the purpose of God,” can have a lasting effect and eternal impact. How awesome would it be that the things you prayed for, the things that you helped to set in motion now, touched the lives of future believers?
It only has to start with one. Abraham only had one child of promise. The promise followed through Isaac all the way down to David to Jesus to us today. One man who had faith made a difference!
There are times I’m tired and frustrated and stressed. The only difference I want to make is to get away from everyone. When that happens, it’s because I’ve been too focused on myself.
When I stay in an atmosphere of the things of God, I’m more patient, loving and at peace. It’s so simple…stay in the Presence of God! Why would I want to be anywhere else?
In the Presence of God, I find my true purpose. I find joy because I’m doing and abiding in what I was created for. In God’s Presence, I receive what I need to make a lasting difference in this world!
Lord, this world is passing away quickly. Things come and go, but I desire to be a part of things that would have an eternal impact. Help me to put time and effort into the things that truly make a difference in this world. Help me to play a part in building Your eternal kingdom.
