He replied, “Don’t be afraid, for our side outnumbers them.” Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes so he can see.” The Lord opened the servant’s eyes and he saw that the hill was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
2 Kings 6:16-17 NET
You will fear when you only see with your eyes. That’s not true for the Believer who is spirit-filled and trusts in the leading of the Holy Spirit.
For that Believer knows that God is in control and no matter what the situation looks like, God can change it in a matter of moments.
Here, God blinded the enemy and Elisha was able to lead them right into the hands of the King.
The whole situation changed in a moment because Elisha trusted in God!
Are you trusting in God?
We have situations that we go through. Sometimes they are desperate like this one, other times they are mere inconveniences. But in both cases, we should trust the Lord to do what He sees fit.
This comes from getting to know Jesus more and more. This comes from spending time with Him.
Even Elisha’s servant didn’t see the angel armies surrounding them. He had to have his eyes open too!
Pray that the Lord would open your eyes to His moves. Pray that you are able to identify God in the world around you. That will build trust!
He is working and moving around us all the time. Do you dare to see Him?
Father, reveal Yourself to me in a deeper way. Help me to see You when it is apparent. I thank You that You always have me secured in Your grip.
