Then the Spirit of the Lord will rush upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man.
1 Samuel 10:6 ESV
In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit was given to a select few. These people were usually prophets and Kings, individuals that God used for His purpose for a time.
One of these individuals was King Saul, the first King of Israel. The Prophet Samuel told him that the Spirit of Lord would rush upon Him.
And He did! The Spirit rushed upon Him and he was changed! He prophesied to the point that people wondered if he was a prophet since it was so rare.
The Holy Spirit enabled Him to accomplish the work God had for him to do.
But now, the Holy Spirit has been given to all who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Jesus said He would send the Holy Spirit and that He would be inside of us. This is so we can have the strength and power to accomplish what God has for us to do. So we can be changed to what He desires.
But many people don’t realize who the Holy Spirit is. They think He is just a feeling or the wind of God. He is the Third Person of the Trinity and He resides in you!
God has given you everything you need to live boldly for Him. The question is, do you realize it and accept it.
Many will get to Heaven and realize they tried so hard to live for Jesus on their own power when they had the Holy Spirit inside of them.
Listen and desire to be led by the Holy Spirit. Ask for direction and see what happens. Let Him change you.
Father, thank You that You don’t leave us to ourselves, but You have provided us with power to live this life for You.
