Moses said to Pharaoh, “You may have the honor over me—when shall I pray for you, your servants, and your people, for the frogs to be removed from you and your houses, so that they will be left only in the Nile?” He said, “Tomorrow.” And Moses said, “It will be as you say, so that you may know that there is no one like the Lord our God.
Exodus 8:9-10 NET
Tomorrow?!? Why did Pharoah wait?
The Lord was bringing plagues against Egypt for enslaving the Israelites and not allowing them to worship Him. One of these plagues was frogs. Frogs everywhere! And I mean everywhere!
When Pharoah called Moses to repent of his sins and change his mind on allowing the Israelites to go worship God (which he again changed his mind), Moses asked him when he wanted the frogs removed.
Pharoah answered him “tomorrow.”
Why wait? Why not say, “remove them now?” Wouldn’t that have really proven God’s power?
People do exactly what Pharoah did, they linger with their sin longer than they should. Why not ask God to intervene right then and now?
God wants to answer your prayer. He wants to intervene in your life. Just like He did in the lives of the Israelites, and all the other Believers in the Bible and throughout History, He wants to move in your life!
Why wait? Why prolong your prayer and your request?
Ask Him to move in your life now. Get rid of the things that are not from Him and begin to praise and seek Him right away.
There is never a time like the present to go to the Lord!
Father, thank You that You are always there. Thank You that I you allow me into Your presence to be with You and find comfort in my time of need.
