And He *said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.” (For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.) Mark 6:31 NASB
Some people don’t value rest. They feel that you should go full speed at all time. This isn’t what the Bible teaches though.
God made a Sabbath day rest for His people. It was a time to worship, but also a time to cease from work.
God knew that there will always be work!
In Mark, Jesus sent the disciples out to preach, cast out demons and heal the sick. When they returned, Jesus suggested that they go to a secluded place to rest.
Are you truly resting? Do you give time for you body to relax and your mind to settle down?
Maybe the world needs more rest! Maybe if we followed God’s advice, which was set in motion from the beginning, people wouldn’t be as stressed.
Set a time to rest and relax and focus on the good things of God.
Father, thank You that You set an example for rest.
