Glorify God • Magnify Him in this World!

Responding to Fear

The messengers returned to Jacob and said, “We went to your brother Esau. He is coming to meet you and has four hundred men with him.”
Genesis 32:6 NET

It is said that “time heals all wounds.” This saying is true sometimes, but not always!

Jacob didn’t want to risk it! He was worried!

Jacob was going back to the land he left 20 years before. He had to deal with the possibility that his brother Esau would finally get his chance to take revenge.

The fear didn’t stop him though. Although it didn’t look good, although Esau was coming with 400 men, he moved forward.

He moved forward, prayed and continued to trust the Lord who told him that He would be with him.

Fear is a powerful force. But it is no match for God’s mighty hand and His Word!

That’s why when things don’t look good for you, knowing what God’s Word says and seeking the leading of the Holy Spirit is a must!

Don’t let someone else’s words or actions keep you from what God wants for you. Don’t let the circumstances or situation you are in keep you from moving forward.

2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Remember, fear that causes you to worry and stress is not from God.

He knows exactly what you need. He has a plan for you. He wants you right in the middle of His will!

Trust. Obey. Pray. Move Forward.

Father, help me when fear and worry grips my mind. Help Your Word and the Holy Spirit to speak louder than any other voice. For who is like You?
