Glorify God • Magnify Him in this World!

Ready for the Fight

From that day forward, half of my men were doing the work and half of them were taking up spears, shields, bows, and body armor. Now the officers were behind all the people of Judah who were rebuilding the wall. Those who were carrying loads did so by keeping one hand on the work and the other on their weapon.

You have to continually stay aware and ready! The enemy will look for an opening to come in and stop what the Lord wants to do in your life.

It can be exhausting though. You need the Lord’s help. You can’t do it without Him!

Nehemiah had permission by the King of Persia to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. But even with that, Nehemiah had to stay aware that the inhabitants around Jerusalem didn’t want the walls to be rebuilt.

He was strategic in putting families together to fight for and protect each other. He had everyone keep their weapon close by. And he had a means of communication to signal trouble.

The enemy, the devil, wants to do you in! He doesn’t want to see Christians living for Jesus. You have to be strategic. You must carry the Sword of the Spirit, the Bible, and keep the communication plan, prayer, close by!

That’s how you fight!

Be aware. Carry your weapon. Communicate with God. Be ready!

Father, You have given us weapons and means to fight the evil one that we don’t always use. Help us to trust Your Word and seek Your face so we will be ready for the fight.
