who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge. 2 Corinthians 1:22 NASB
Sometimes things are too good to be true. You’ve seen the online posts where you will get $1000 if you just reshare the post.
Other times, the offer you receive is so really good, like when Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to His followers.
The same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is given to you when you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
But what we receive here is just a pledge! It’s hard to wrap your mind that the Holy Spirit inside of you is JUST A pledge!
A pledge is a down payment. It is a portion of the fullness.
If we only receive a pledge of what God has for us, can you imagine the fullness?
No one can! It would blow your mind. Our human minds couldn’t contain it!
What we have waiting for us in eternity is so great that no one on this side of Heaven can truly explain it.
But if you have ever been in the Spirit and have felt the Lord strongly in your life, you have had a taste! Just a taste!
Why would anyone want anything different?
Take a moment and imagine what it might be like when you receive the fullness of the Spirit on that day!
Father, thank You for letting me have a taste of what it will be like on that day! I can’t wait.
