And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.’
Luke 16:24 NASB
One day you will breathe your last breath and you will die. At that very moment, the way YOU CHOSE to live here on this Earth will determine your next step into eternity.
Jesus gave us the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man. The Rich Man lived in total luxury here on Earth, but he didn’t walk in the ways of the Lord. When he died, he realized that his short time on Earth determined eternity. And now, there was nothing he could do to change his eternal consequence.
Isn’t it worth it to pursue Jesus now? You won’t get a second chance after you die.
Your life is payable on death. You can choose to be your own Lord, ruler of your domain, or you can let Jesus. He already paid for it all. Let Him take care of it!
I’m secure in knowing that Jesus died for my sins. I have made Him Lord of my life.
But there are others who haven’t. People I know, family and friends, are on their way to hell because they haven’t asked Jesus into their heart to make Him Lord.
I need to spread the Gospel message, just put it out there. I can’t make the decision for them, but I can give them the opportunity.
Lord, I pray for my family and friends who don’t know You. Draw them to You through the power of the Holy Spirit. Help them to realize that this world is not all there is.
Help me to have the words to say at the right time.
