25 The disciples were greatly astonished when they heard this and said, “Then who can be saved?” 26 Jesus looked at them and replied, “This is impossible for mere humans, but for God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:25-26 NET
Jesus had just finished a conversation with a young rich man and said that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.
The disciples were shocked. They believed, like so many today, that money buys and provides opportunities. But this isn’t the way God works.
God isn’t tied to the way things work in this life. He is God!
So it doesn’t matter who you are, how much money you have, what degrees you hold, we are all equal in the eyes of God.
Salvation isn’t something that can be bought. It isn’t something that you can save up for. It is a work of God.
You do have to purchase it, not with money, but with your life. Have you COMPLETELY submitted yourself to Him?
That is the only way!
Decisions for your eternal life are made here and now. Your decision needs to be to live for Him, if you desire eternal life.
Decisions need to be made to draw closer to Him. What keeps you from living sold out to Him?
Then, you have a responsibility to share the Gospel with others. Not only with words, but by your actions.
Do others see your hope of salvation by the way you live?
Lord, what else in this world compares to You? Nothing! I desire You more than any money, fame or anything else.
