For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” Mark 8:38 NASB
There are Christians who don’t like anyone to know they are a Christian. They hold to their beliefs, but because this world is hostile to the things of God, believe that you shouldn’t express your Christian beliefs out for everyone to see.
They might be afraid of the backlash. And today, that backlash can be severe.
They might be afraid of being made fun of. Comments like, “why would you want to believe in a fairytale God in Heaven who is preparing a place for you?” are common.
They might only have a very basic understanding, having never truly sought the Lord, digging into the Word and feel like they can’t speak to questions and comments others might have.
It is all fear, fear of man.
But Christians aren’t supposed to fear man. We shouldn’t put our beliefs in a closet. We should be living our faith out loud!
If we truly believe that Jesus is the answer, then we should be sharing it with everyone, not just keeping it to ourselves.
Jesus said that if we were ashamed of Him, He would be ashamed of us on that last day!
All the negative comments and being made fun of that you will receive here from people who don’t believe will be worth it on that last day when Jesus steps up and puts His arm around you and shows you Heaven.
Don’t be ashamed to be a Believer. Live your faith out loud!
Father, help me to shine my light for You in this world!
