“Therefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds in keeping with their repentance.
Acts 26:19-20 ESV
You think you have a choice! At least people like to think they can choose their own way. And they can, if they are not Believers in Jesus Christ, up until a point.
But if you are a Believer, then you really don’t have a choice, you are either obedient or disobedient.
Disobedience is not acceptable to God. It is dealt with. This really leaves only obedience.
But for anyone who knows the truth, why wouldn’t they want to be obedient to God’s Word?
Trusting and obeying God’s Word opens up His blessings. We receive mercy and help in our time of need. We can stand on His promises of eternity. And we know true love in Jesus Christ.
Anyone who realized what it is to live for Jesus and then turns their back on Him would be a fool.
This is what Paul told King Agrippa and Festus. The minute after he was knocked off his horse and heard the voice of Jesus, he was faithful to the Lord’s command.
He didn’t wait to do a Bible study. He didn’t talk to a ton of people to get their advice. He didn’t search the internet. He just was obedient to what Jesus said, that’s all!
Are you obedient? If not, why? There is no room or time for disobedience. God takes care of that and will get your attention.
But if you realize and trust that the Lord is real and He has forgiven your sins, then there really isn’t any other option.
Start right now following and being obedient to what He says in His Word, just like Paul.
Father, I desire to live my life for You and to be obedient to Your Word. Help me to live with the conviction that there is no other way.
