And as for the dead being raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not God of the dead, but of the living. You are quite wrong.”
Mark 12:26-27 ESV
I love to read, or nowadays, listen to books in a series. I like following a character through multiple books and a long story line.
I don’t like when one of these books ends though. I want the story to continue.
I feel bad for people who don’t see more to their life than the measly 60-80 years here on Earth. That story is too short!
But the Believer, their story will go on in eternity with Jesus! And yet, some still can’t see it!
Jesus dealt with this. He dealt with the Sadducees, who didn’t believe in a resurrection. They believed that you lived and died here on Earth and that’s it!
But that’s not what Jesus said. He brought to their attention that even God Himself, said, “I am the God…” not, “I WAS the God.”
You see Abraham, Issac and Jacob are alive in eternity, just like every other Believer is or will be.
How does your story end?
Father, thank You for the gift of salvation through the shed blood of Your Son, Jesus. Thank You for eternal life and a future hope.
