For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day. 2 Timothy 1:12 NASB
Many leadership gurus talk about leaving a legacy. The idea is that the work they did in their life continue on in one form or another.
The Apostle Paul left a legacy, but he didn’t worry about who he entrusted with it. Or at least, he wasn’t worried about who he entrusted with it here on Earth.
No! He entrusted the work he did to the Holy Spirit. He knew that no foundation, church or fund would be able to continue his work like God would be able to.
The churches he started are long gone. But his work continues on because he trusted the Holy Spirit to take it after he was gone.
For us, we just need to do what the Lord is asking us and trust that the Holy Spirit knows what to do next.
Are you trusting God to handle what needs to happen next? He is truly capable!
Father, thank You that we can trust you with everything important, even after we are gone.
