11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. 12 Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.
1 Chronicles 29:11-12 NASB
A prayer of King David… One of the keys to King David’s life is that He always knew God’s place in his life. Even when he sinned and repented, he didn’t question that God was in control and whatever He wanted to do and accomplish was going to happen.
We strive everyday to make something of ourselves, for ourselves, when in reality all blessings and honor come from the Lord.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to make sure that God holds the proper place in your life and then allow Him to bestow the blessings?
What would happen if we focused more on worship and honoring God? What would our lives look like then?
If you were to do a thorough evaluation of your life, including your walk with the Lord, what would you see? Would you be OK with sharing your findings with someone else? Would you be ok and honored to present your findings to Jesus Himself?
If you take that hard look, would you find that most of your life is directed by yourself or someone else? Or could you say that your life is directed by the Lord?
What would it take to walk in more faith and trust? What would it look like if you lived trusting in the Lord, knowing that all good things come from Him?
Adjust today. Change your perspective. Trust God to show You and lead you. If all good things come from Him, you can’t go wrong!
Lord, help us to put You first and give you place in our lives You deserve. That means that we will have to trust You more. Help us to trust from our heart and mind, where you rule.
