18 “Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are as scarlet,
They will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They will be like wool.
19 “If you consent and obey,
You will eat the best of the land;
20 “But if you refuse and rebel,
You will be devoured by the sword.”
Truly, the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
Isaiah 1:18-20 NASB
God is a God of choice. He gives us free will to choose and make our own decisions. He wants to reason with us and get us to think logically about the benefits of living a life of obedience to Him and His Word.
Even if we can’t process this logically, we know spiritually that our sin separates us from the Father. We realize that we need to take care of that sin because in our hearts, we know that we were created to commune with God.
Is there something keeping me from fully living the life the Lord wants me to live? Do I just aimlessly approach everyday or do I purposefully acknowledge everyday as a day to examine how I’m living…not in condemnation, but because I love and want to honor Father God.
Lord, help me to choose correctly everyday. Help me to obey and live a life that is pleasing and honoring to You. I desire to live cognizant of Your Spirit every moment of my day. What else can compare to this?
