Let the labor be heavier on the men, and let them work at it so that they will pay no attention to false words.”
Exodus 5:9 NASB
When Moses came on the scene, talking about God “hearing their cries,” the Hebrew people must have been exited and full of joy. That joy turned into complaining and grumbling soon after when Pharoah, the King of Egypt, wasn’t having it. He made their life harder!
The Hebrew people suddenly received a heavier work load! Where was the joy? Where was the promise of the Lord? Where was the release of captivity?
Many times, right before the victory, situations get harder and overwhelming. Money gets tighter, the doctor’s report seems worse, relationships get colder, depression and anxiety start to worm themselves into your heart. But when that happens, stay true to God! Hold on to Jesus! Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.
The bigger the problem in front of you, the greater is God’s grace and mercy. It doesn’t “feel good” when you’re in the middle of it. But just hold on! God is for you. He is working behind the scenes. He has a plan that is so much bigger and greater than you can see.
Don’t lose the victory because you give up! Many people do! They miss out on what God has for them because they don’t let God do what He wants to do.
While you’re waiting on God to come through, you must continue to seek Him. You must pray, read the Bible and fellowship with the Saints. This will help to keep you FOCUSED on God and His promises.
Lord, thank You that Your promises are always true. Thank You that we are your children and You only want the best for us. Help us to have the faith to preserve in Your ways.
