For by their own sword they did not possess the land,
And their own arm did not save them,
But Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your presence,
For You favored them.
Psalms 44:3 NASB
It’s so good to know that we are not on our own. We have our good moments, but we often fail. But God, He is good all the time. And He never fails. He is mighty to save. He is all powerful. He is all present.
Not only that, but God favors His people. What an awesome God that He looks down and is active in His people’s lives. Who wouldn’t want to be favored by God?
It comes down to trust. Do I trust myself to take care of EVERYTHING? Or am I going to trust in the Lord?
It’s easier to trust when I remember all the things, all the blessings, all the ways that God has already moved in my life. I can’t deny Him!
How important is it to take time to recall and reflect on God’s mighty favor in my life. That helps to build faith and provides a firm foundation when I am weak.
Lord, help me to never count on my own ability and strength. I already know I can’t do it on my own. Help me to trust and rely on You.
Thank You for your favor that is spent on me lavishly. Let my attitude, actions, my entire life forever declare Your goodness.
