Glorify God • Magnify Him in this World!

In the Final Seconds

“God will provide for himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham replied. The two of them continued on together.
Genesis 22:8 NET

Have you ever had a time in your life when you wondered where your resources were going to come from? Depending on your need, those could be scary times as deadlines come ever so quickly.

Abraham was on his way to sacrifice Issac to God on Mt. Moriah.

He was being obedient. But it must have been hard. With every step, he was getting closer to this one point in his life when he would physically lose the one thing that he waited so long for, his only son.

Issac saw it, “We have everything for the sacrifice, but where is the animal?”

Abraham knew God would provide though. He didn’t know how. He didn’t know at what point. He didn’t know what it would all look like.

He just kept being obedient.

In the final second, God came through. God provided.

Will he do it for you too? Yes. Will it look just like Abraham’s story? No! It will be your story.

It will be different. Different people, situations, places, resources, etc… The only constant will be that God will provide!

An important thing to remember, even if it doesn’t look like God will come through in the final seconds, He still has your best interest at heart. He is still all powerful.

God had told him, “Through Isaac descendants will carry on your name,” and he reasoned that God could even raise him from the dead, and in a sense he received him back from there.
Hebrews 11:18-19 NET

Abraham simply trusted and obeyed. And God blessed him because of it. And God blesses all the people of the world because of what Abraham did. It’s all there in His Word.

Are you in a desperate situation? Are you expecting God to come through for you? Will you continue to believe and have faith? Will you trust and obey, even if you can’t see the outcome?

Then you can say of your situation, just like Abraham said of his, “the Lord provides.”

Father, help me to trust in You more. Help me to look to you when I just can’t see the way in front of me. Guide me by the Holy Spirit so that my life can glorify You.
