But keep away from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faithfulness, love, and peace, in company with others who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
2 Timothy 2:22 NET
There is a way that the Believer should live. It is characterized by righteousness, faithfulness, peace and love. But added to that, it should happen with others who call on the Lord.
This is a powerful truth that Paul shares with Timothy. Believers need each other!
When brothers and sisters in Christ get together, they can encourage one another. They can pray for one another. They can share insight into God’s ways and how He has used them.
The great lie perpetrated on Christians today is that Sunday morning is the time when Believers gather together. That is one time yes. But that should not be the only time.
Christians need regular times to meet with and share life with others. Christians need to be in the company of other Christians.
First, are you going to church somewhere? That needs to be first. Remember, no church is going to be perfect!
Are there opportunities for you to gather at your church with others in Bible Study? For fun? Then don’t neglect those times.
If your church doesn’t have times like these, then maybe it is your duty to start something.
Lord, thank You for Your church and the brothers and sisters that You have given us. Help us to spend time together, thus encouraging and supporting one another, even as we see the day drawing near.
