For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, as we wait for the happy fulfillment of our hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Titus 2:11-13 NET
There is power in God’s grace! Living in His grace gives you the strength to reject godless ways and worldly desires. It helps you to live a godly life, in this age, until Jesus returns.
Grace give you the strength to live for Jesus, but it doesn’t do it for you. Notice that it trains you.
As a Christian, you are “in progress” of becoming more and more like Jesus. You need to stay in His grace and depend only on Him. As you do, keep your eyes on His returning.
The time is short and knowing this creates an urgency that causes you to press into Him even more.
Where do you put your attention and focus? Is it on Jesus and what He has done for you? Or is it on other words issues?
Staying in His presence, remembering what He has done for you and desiring to grow in faith will keep you in His grace.
Jesus only wants you to grow in Him. Seek Him more and more. Don’t relent. Don’t take a break. Don’t get side tracked. Don’t allow your circumstances to speak louder than the Holy Spirit and the Word.
Keep your eyes trained on Him!
Lord, thank You for Your grace. Help me to stay focused on what is righteous and holy and what glorifies You.
