For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
1 Timothy 2:5 NASB
God knew that you would never be able to stand before Him. You would never be good enough, holy enough or righteous enough on your own. He sent Jesus and now He stands between you and God. He stands in the gap for you.
If you couldn’t have ever done it on your own, that means you can’t do it on your own right now. At this point, where ever you are with God, you need Jesus! How well do you truly know your mediator?
I know I need Jesus. There is not an argument about that at all. But do I rely on Him at all times? I mean at all times!?! Is Jesus the first person I think about, the first person I turn to when I’m in need? Why not? Why wouldn’t I want my eternal mediator to be the person I go to always?
Father, thank You for Jesus. Thank You that I have a way to You that is not based on my own righteousness. I look forward to the day that I am face to face with You and Jesus is standing there. Until then, help me to rely more on more on Jesus.
