“For as for the life of all flesh, its blood is identified with its life. Therefore I said to the sons of Israel, ‘You are not to eat the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood; whoever eats it shall be cut off.’ Leviticus 17:14 NASB
When God instructed Moses about the sacrifices for the tabernacle and just plain handling an animal to prepare it for eating, He was very serious about how to deal with the blood.
It is made very clear in the Word that the Israelites were not to eat the blood. If they did, they were to be “cut-off” from the rest of the people. That’s pretty serious!
But later, Jesus tells the disciples that His blood is of the new covenant and they should symbolically drink from it. We call this The Lord’s Supper or communion.
The thing is, the blood of sheep and goats was not going to truly atone for sin. God allowed it, because it was necessary at the time.
But Jesus, His blood was enough! His blood covers all of our sins. There is life, eternal life in His blood.
The thing is, God was pointing to it all along. He was foreshadowing what was to come.
This means that God has had a plan way longer than you can imagine. He knew what He was doing and were it was all going.
If that is the case with your eternal life, that He had a plan the whole time, don’t you think He has a plan for you right now, for the rest of your life?
He knows what He is doing. He has a plan for your life. You can trust Him!
Father, thank You that way before I was born, You had a plan for my life. Help me to trust Your plan.
