Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we depend on the Lord our God.
Psalms 20:7 NET
It is in our nature to trust what we experience with our five senses. We don’t have to have faith, we can see, touch, hear, smell or taste it.
But God is Spirit. We don’t experience the spiritual in the same way as we experience the natural world. We need to have faith. We need to trust in the Lord.
This is where many people miss it. They want to experience God like they experience everything else in the world. So, they gravitate to experiences that meets the needs of the senses. Christianity becomes Christian entertainment. Faith becomes rules. Trust in God becomes trust in man or an institution.
If those who seek God don’t do it in the Spirit, by the power of the Holy Spirit, they will miss what God wants to do in their lives.
It is important to remember that God’s ways are not our ways. He doesn’t operate or is limited to the natural world.
And this needs to be our understanding. We need to remember that God has the ability to work in our lives and the world around us any way He sees fit.
This means that the limited resources you have available to you, won’t stop the work that God wants to do in you or through you. He created the world out of nothing! Surely He can come through for you.
The key here is to make sure you are in His will. Look for where God is moving and join Him in His work. Adjust your life to him. He will supply all your needs.
Lord, I thank You that whatever You call me to do, wherever You call me to do it, that You will provide everything I need. Help me to depend on You and not on my own skills, abilities and resources. I trust in You.
