From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalms 61:2 NASB
There is only so much we can do. There is only so much we can handle. There will be times when our hearts grow faint, when we’re tired, when we are ready to give up.
But the Psalmist knew that it is important not to try and face this world alone. He called to the Lord and asked to be led to a place, a rock, somewhere steady.
This place wasn’t a place that the author could get to on his own. He needed the Lord to take him, “to the place that is higher than I.”
This place is where you get strength, courage, faith, healing, boldness, mercy… It is where God is, His presence.
The key is to turn to Jesus often. There are many times when I need to rely on His strength, His peace. There are time when I need to rely on Him to come through.
This world doesn’t like believer’s. The world makes it very easy to beat up on believers. But God will come through. He will never fail me when I trust and seek Him…when I call out to Him.
Lord, I thank you that I can run to You in my need. I thank you that You always come through to rescue me, even if it isn’t in the way I was thinking it would happen. You know best and there is nothing that can get in the way of your love for me.
