Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”
Mark 1:41 NASB
I’m sure the condition of this leaper caused him to always ask others if they were willing to deal with someone who had the disease.
You can imagine him asking, “Are you willing to sell me food?” Or, “are you willing to help me for a quick minute?” I can imagine that he heard the word “no” a lot.
But in Jesus, he found someone who would say yes!
He could have given up. He could have lived his life defeated. But instead he kept pushing on. His healing came because he was persistent and sought after Jesus, the only one that could give him real healing and peace.
Jesus was moved with compassion and moved in the leaper’s life. But it is important that the leaper sought Jesus out. Jesus never forces Himself on us. But when we seek Him, we are totally blown away!
What is going on in your life right now? Seek Him and let Him have compassion on you. Be desperate. Come to Him. The healing might not be what you think it should be, but He will come…and it will be better than you can imagine.
Lord, thank You for listening and coming to our rescue. We thank You that You have compassion on us, Your people.
