21 then I will so order My blessing for you in the sixth year that it will bring forth the crop for three years. 22 When you are sowing the eighth year, you can still eat old things from the crop, eating the old until the ninth year when its crop comes in.
Leviticus 25:21-22 NASB
God promised the Israelites that if they walked according to His ways and observed the Jubilee, a time when the land wasn’t planted and harvested, that He would provide so much harvest in the year before the Jubilee that they could eat on it for 3 years! That would be a big harvest and something very unusual that God did especially for the Israelites!
But we shouldn’t be surprised that God could do this. He is God. Nothing is impossible for Him! Our part is to trust and obey. He takes care of the rest!
Do you trust and obey Him? If not, why? Why is it so hard to turn over the reins of our life over to Him?
It takes faith. We don’t see God. We don’t hear God, like a normal man. We don’t touch God. We just can’t experience Him with our senses.
But, for the Believer that does learn to trust, it becomes easier and easier. So, start off by trusting Him in the smallest of things. Completely turn it over to Him and let Him take it. You will see that He can do so much more with your situation than you can.
And after you experience Him move in your life in the smaller things, it will be easier to trust Him with the bigger.
Remember, God created you. He knows everything about you. He is more than capable of handling any situation. Just trust and obey.
The obey thing is hard too. Because obedience to the Lord means walking in His ways. This means you need to learn His ways. You should be in the Word daily. There is no substitute! There is no excuse! Learn what God requires!
Once you start in, you will realize how good He is and you won’t want to try or do anything else. You will choose to walk in His ways to be pleasing to Him.
Remember, God can do it! You just trust and obey!
Lord, You always come through for us. Help us in our insecurities and failure of not letting You have control. Thank You for Your Word, in which You show us Your ways. Help us to be faithful to what You ask of us.
