Scripture
8 Has His lovingkindness ceased forever?
Has His promise come to an end forever?
9 Has God forgotten to be gracious,
Or has He in anger withdrawn His compassion? Selah.
Psalms 77:8-9 NASB
Observation
It’s a good thing that God doesn’t change. Can you imagine having to try and figure Him out as He changed? “What is God going to be like today? Should I stay? Or should I steer clear?”
Fortunately, we don’t have to worry about this or ask this question. As He was with Abraham, David and the Apostles, He will be with us. He doesn’t change!
His promises are always true and He is always faithful. If there is any difference, it is because we have responded differently. We have moved away from Him and have chosen to handle our lives on our own.
Application
Every day needs to be a time of evaluation to see where I am with the Lord.
Emotions and feelings shouldn’t play a determining factor in how I respond or my committmemt to the Lord. They can change in a whim.
Instead, my relationship with God has to be rock solid. Or, I have to build “on the rock.” That way, when the storms of life come in, they don’t destroy everything.
A big part of this is seeking the Lord at ALL times and waiting on Him…the waiting is hard.
Prayer
Lord, help me to seek You at all times, even when I don’t feel like it or my emotions have the better of me. Help me to wait on You, to trust You.
You are always there and You never leave me or forsake me. Thank You.
Peace
Todd
