10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; 11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer 13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.
Romans 12:10-13 NASB
The Christian faith is never to be lived out in isolation. We are supposed to be for one another as we live this life for the Lord.
Living this way would show the world that we truly have the love of Christ in us. Who doesn’t want to belong and be a part of something awesome?
But living this way also gives us a plan and purpose. We know what we need to do for the Lord when we act and respond this way. This is the will of God for your life.
It’s easy to read these words and agree that every Christian should be living like this. It is hard in reality because we allow the world and our personal hurts and insecurities to speak louder to us than God’s Word.
I need to spend more time in the things of God. I need to see people through the eyes of Jesus. I need to remember that when I serve, I’m not serving someone else, but I’m doing it unto the Lord!
Lord, help me to live the way You want me to. Help me to see others as Yours and help me to serve all of Your people with a cheerful heart. Help me not to look inward, but outward to what You are doing all around me..even when it is tough.
