In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, in order to fulfill the Lord’s message spoken through Jeremiah, the Lord stirred the mind of King Cyrus of Persia. He disseminated a proclamation throughout his entire kingdom, announcing in a written edict the following:

You’re intertwined in a conspiracy! And the sad thing is, you might not even know it!
This conspiracy is global, world-wide. You can’t run from it. You can’t hide from it. It’s all around you, you are part of it!
The conspiracy is this… God is in control!
God is ultimately in control of everything that happens. He is God and He is All-Powerful!
The first question that comes up when someone says something like this is, “Well then why does He allow evil in the world?”
Being in control doesn’t mean that you cause evil to happen. We allowed that to happen when we sinned (Adam and Eve and all that).
Being in control means that sin and death don’t have the final say!He provides a means of escape from the evil that runs rampant. He sent His only Son to die to forgive us our sins!
This is evident in Ezra too! The Israelites were exiled to Babylon because of their disobedience to God. But the Prophet Jeremiah prophesied that they would come back.
Here, the King of Persia sends out an edict that the Jews could return and even rebuild the temple. He even asked for others to provide supplies!
This edict didn’t come from Cyrus the Great. This came from God! God used Cyrus to perform His will!
You need to remember that God has the last say! Politics, doctors, bankers, your employer, whatever, all play a part in this life. But God has the last say!
And the ultimate realization of this happens on Judgement Day! Nothing else will matter.. NOTHING…but what God the Father says.
You want Him to say, “Well done my faithful servant…”
Father, thank You for the understanding that this world isn’t all there is. Thank You that I understand that You are in control and one day, it will be realized as I’m face to face with You in Your throne room. Until then, help me to accomplish Your will for my life.
