29 Twelve months later he was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon.30 The king reflected and said, ‘Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal residence by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?’. Daniel 4:29-30 NASB
God warned King Nebuchadnezzar that He is the one who is ruler over all mankind and sets whoever He wishes in authority. To make sure he understood that, God humbled him after He gave the glory to himself.
God wants the glory. He deserves it. God is active in and in control of this world. It is evident. What can I do to show His glory?
I should walk in humility. I hope I never get like King Nebuchadnezzar and try to claim what I have as my own doing. I acknowledge the goodness of God in my life. Can I stop for a moment and take in all of His blessings and know they are a gift from Him.
Lord, help me to understand that all good things in my life come from You. Help me to acknowledge that, not just in my own heart, but by my words and actions so that those around me know that I credit You and give You all the glory.
