43 For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit.44 For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush.45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.
Luke 6:43-45 NASB
It’s all so simple. As believer’s, we should produce fruit. Good fruit is not going to come from an unhealthy tree. Good fruit is not going to magically start appearing from a tree that shouldn’t produce fruit.
God is a God of order. The ways of God are plain for all to see.
The fruit you bare is going to come from your heart. What is in your heart will come out. When that happens, what will people see? What kind of fruit will be hanging on your tree?
There is a lot more to a fruit tree than just showing up during harvest season. Trees need to be taken care of.
Are you taking care of your tree/spiritual life/heart? Are you putting good things inside of you, so good things can come out?
I need to continually read, pray, live by faith and fellowship with the saints, that puts good things inside. I need to becareful of what else I put in my heart.
I want to bare good fruit for God.
Lord, guard my heart that I would only put good things in it. Help me to produce fruit that is consistent with Your love and mercy. Let nothing else in this world have a hold on me. I only desire You.
