They established the altar on its foundations, even though they were in terror of the local peoples, and they offered burnt offerings on it to the Lord, both the morning and the evening offerings.
Ezra 3:3 NET
Just because the Lord asks you to do something, to be faithful, doesn’t mean that you won’t encounter some fear!
Your eyes still see. You notice what is around you. People who have a problem with the things of the Lord will still not like you and try to come against the Lord’s work.
But, you need to trust Him. Although there might be some fear and hesitation, you need to trust in what the Lord is asking you to do.
Because if He asks you to do it, He will provide a way. It doesn’t mean that it will be the easiest thing ever, it just means that He will be with you and help you.
You must trust in Him!
The Jews that were allowed to return to Jerusalem after the Exile we’re allowed to rebuild the temple. The people that lived in the land after the Jews were exiled didn’t want them to build it.
Under threats, they continued to build the altar. And, they finished it!
The people of God will always find opposition to the things God wants for them from the world. But God’s people should always trust that He has their back. He is mighty to save!
Father, thank You that You are more powerful than any other force. Help me to trust in You always because You never let me down.
Peace
Todd
