From the rising of the sun to its setting
The name of the Lord is to be praised.
Psalms 113:3 NASB
When you praise anything, your focus and attention are given to that thing. You actively think about it, find the best part of it and hold it up in your mind and heart as something worthy.
We do that with many things. But how much more should we do that to the Lord? Do you praise Him?
The Psalmist says that praise should take place throughout the whole day. Is it truly possible?
It is when God is so big that you see Him in everything and everywhere. It happens when you are truly grateful for what He has done for you. It is possible when you surround yourself with the things of God.
There are so many things that want to take my time and attention away from living, serving and praising God. I need to put Him first in all things. I need to wake up and go to bed with praise on my lips.
What can I do to be purposeful here? What do I need to remove from my life? What do I need to put in my life to keep Him first?
Lord, I pray that You find in me a person who desires You more than anything else. I pray that I purposefully put things in my life to honor and praise You. Direct my paths, my thoughts and my praise this day.
